Do you use Instant Messaging (MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL, Jabber) ?
Posted in General on June 23rd, 2005I found this software that acts as a gateway to all of the common IM networks.
BitlBee: An IRC to other chat networks gateway — Allows you to setup a gateway server, that you connect to via IRC and then
you can talk to folks on the IM networks (Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Jabber).
The software was developed for Linux, but it has been ported to Windows, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and NetBSD. The windows has a native and cygwin version. I tried the native windows version but did not have success in getting connected to networks.
But there are “public” bitlbee servers, so I have successfully used one of those to gain access to my IM networks.
They even have a cgi gateway setup via cgi::irc
Free Stats Counter
Posted in General on June 2nd, 2005Found a cool free stats program. Keeps up with the last 100 visitors; you can upgrade a free account of course.
I have a stats program on my web server, but this free one offers some features that my standalone webalizer application does not.
Check them out StatCounter.com
